Vignette: Arnon (Israel)

I met Arnon, a property manager, in 2001. We talked about whether or not to stay in the US.

When I mentioned that I wasn't sure if I ever wanted to become a citizen, he said he used to feel that way too. But then he'd lost his green card and when he went to replace it, it turned out that it cost $25 less to apply for citizenship.

"So I thought, oh well, why not."
