Sierra Point: The Fishing Pier

Sierra Point Fill

Sierra Point is a very quiet place on a regular weekday and exudes an air of incompleteness and disappointed expectation. The marina and a small park that gives access to the fishing pier are meticulously groomed, but the office towers look like they are stranded in the wrong office park, their spit and polish and their stately palms quite wasted on the dereliction that surrounds them.

Reportedly, the garbage fill, subject to settling for long periods of time, makes the area unstable. All buildings are in danger of sagging unless they are on piles reaching down to the bay mud, 60 feet below.
