Sunnyvale: Levees

For the old salt ponds a series of levees were created that now function as trails. The ones shown here lie parallel to the bay shore, but others lie at right angles to it.

It's an oddly exhilirating experience, to walk into the bay on one of those levees, like walking on water. I don't know if it's possible, not having actually tried it, but it looks like you should be able to walk all the way to Newark, on the opposite shore.
